The Suitable Location for your Ozone Gas Detector
A basic principle for installation of the ozone detector is: The
installation site should be able to detect various onsite gas source
points or other sites with potential gas leakage.
The monitoring system should be able to give an onsite pre-warning in advance and indicate the gas leakage points to evacuate personnel from dangerous points in time; find out and eliminate the leakage sources; operate the production line, turn off equipment blackout and start the ventilation equipment.
Which height should the ozone gas detector be installed?
Under general conditions, the gas density should be smaller than the air density. The oxygen detector should be installed above the region with potential leakage sources. If the gas density is larger than the air density, the detector should be installed 30cm to 60cm above the ground. As to gases whose density is similar to the air, the detector should be installed closer to the operation space (namely the respiration area) of onsite personnel.
Besides, the detector should prevent the sensor from contacting the water or polluted by the dust or blocked thereby. (If the site cannot avoid water or dust, the detector should be equipped with the specialized water-filtering and dust-filtering device.)
How much the installation distance should be maintained?
In theory, under good ventilation, the ozone gas detector can be installed at an interval of around 15m. If the ventilation is poor, the ozone gas detection should be installed at an interval of around 10m. If there are multiple leakage points, the number of probes should be increased correspondingly.
